Gerry McDaniel

I started my music career at an early age, and having been playing an array of Celtic, Folk and original material for some time. Being an entertainer has been my passion in life. I thoroughly enjoy playing to an audience and engaging their participation! Starting off locally in Cape Breton and branching off to include venues all throughout the Maritimes, I was also fortunate enough to exhibit my musical talents as an Acoustic Guitar and Bodhran player, and Singer/Songwriter throughout parts of the US and Western Canada. My original single compositions included Indian Summer on Cape Breton Island, Tall Ships, Brook Village, Good Old Days, and All the Way to Here. Most recently, my original songs, Waiting for the South Wind and The Fishermen of Cheticamp have been chosen for an up-coming documentary, The Making of Jimmy Brow.

CBMIC will be holding an information session on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 about our 2024 Product Development Program. This is a funding program available to assist Cape Breton artists looking to recording new music for release as part of their artist development plans for the next 2 years. We will provide an outline of the program workings, eligibility, the funding process, and timelines. We will aim to start the session at 6:15 once people are settled, and will do Q&A around 7pm.
This will be the only session in the CBRM area. The remaining sessions will take place in Port Hawkesbury, and Inverness County.
If you are considering applying for the program, this sessions will provide you all the valuable information required for application.
Hope to see you there!
