Hello members! We’d like to share with you an excellent opportunity right here in Cape Breton from our Islands Musical Partners at NSCC: Level Up Your Music Career at NSCC! In the midst of a region whose heart has moved to the beat of music throughout the ages, Nova Scotia Community College’s (NSCC) Sydney-based campus launched its Music Arts Diploma program in the area’s former Convent space in fall 2020. NSCC’s Music Arts program offers tools for learners to help refine their craft, but also ensure they build on that talent with the essential business skills needed to thrive. With the re-opening of live music venues across the province, this year’s program will offer many learning and performance opportunities for students in all genres of music. Since launching NSCC’s music programming in 2008, the College has proudly watched phenomenal successes emerge across genres – locally, nationally and internationally. Notable grads include Leanne Hoffman, Good Dear Good, Chrissi Cochrane, and members of TWRP, Neon Dreams, The Town Heroes, Pineo and Loeb, Roxy and the Underground Soul Sound, and many more. They illustrate just a few examples of the direction taken by former students who have been given a foundation that can help them grow their music careers.
