Call for Volunteers: Cape Breton Music Industry Hall of Fame

Are you passionate about music, community, and Cape Breton’s incredible cultural legacy? Be part of something special and join our volunteer team for the third annual Cape Breton Music Industry Hall of Fame Event, happening from June 17th to 20th, 2025!

This multi-day celebration honours the legends and changemakers of the Cape Breton music industry, while also helping to support youth in music across Cape Breton Island. We can’t make this important event happen without amazing volunteers—people like YOU!

Volunteers play a vital role in creating a smooth, safe, and unforgettable experience for all. We’re currently looking for support across a variety of roles. Some of these may not apply to every volunteer, but here’s an idea of what’s involved:

Volunteer Roles May Include:

  • Event Seating Coordination: Assist in the organization and execution of seat planning for the main event. This includes the floor seating plan for the sponsor tables, moving tables and chairs to position, and table marking.
  • Front Gate/Tickets: Be the friendly face that welcomes attendees! Duties include checking tickets, distributing bracelets, and showing attendees to their sponsor tables.
  • Hospitality/Green Room: Assist with various hospitality needs for various event components, including production days and rehearsals, coordination with venue catering, and helping organize and maintain the artists’ green rooms during main events.
  • Backstage Assistant: Assist show performers, presenters, and hosts to access backstage areas, dressing rooms, green rooms, rehearsal spaces, stage, holding areas, etc. This may require assisting with carrying equipment. (This position would require the physical ability to carry items up to 50lbs.)
  • Runner and General Assistant: Duties may include picking up and delivering supplies, helping with general tasks, and moving items to various site locations. (This position would require a valid driver’s license and the physical ability to carry items up to 50lbs.)
  • Green Team: Keep the event areas, such as the stage, dressing rooms, and green rooms, clean during and after the event! This includes replacing garbage bags and helping sort waste, compost, and recycling properly.

*There may be additional need for volunteers on days leading up to the event and the day following for those who have more and flexible availability to volunteer.*

Your contribution will help shape a truly meaningful event that celebrates the heart and soul of Cape Breton music.
